To graduate residents proficient and competent in providing comprehensive, specialty and emergency care to both inpatients and outpatients.
To develop skills and gain experience in the dental management of medically and physically compromised patients in both outpatient and operating room environments.
To gain experience in being part of the hospital healthcare team by providing hospital consultations, taking history and writing orders.
To gain experience in hospital organizations including committees, medical staff issues and procedures for obtaining staff appointments and clinical privileges.
Hands-on training The Center for Dental Health will accept four residents for each academic year beginning July 1 for a term of one year. Residents will gain experience in oral and maxillofacial surgery, periodontics, prosthodontics, pediatric dentistry, restorative and cosmetic dentistry, implant dentistry both surgical and restorative, endodontics, oral medicine, orthodontics including the Invisilign technique and sports dentistry. Residents will evaluate pre-op transplant patients and treat special needs patients in both the dental clinic and operating room.
Residents will work one-on-one with clinical attendings in all phases of dental care to ensure a maximum and consistent educational experience. In addition, the use of all sophisticated and high tech instruments will compliment the academic and clinical exposure.
